The Ferrari F430 was only in production for 5 years between 2004 to 2009, as a successor to the 360. The F430 brought in Enzo Ferrari’s tail lights and engine cover vents, and introduced a computer-controlled limited slip differential. It is powered by an entirely new mid-mounted naturally aspirated 4.3-litre V8, generating 483 hp pushing it to more than 315 km/h. The F430 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.
Designed by Pininfarina, the Ferrari F430 was aerodynamically enhanced, compared to the 360, to achieve a greater downforce. The design is very different to its predecessor, tail lights and engine cover vents are redesigned, and so are the front bumper intakes. The brakes on the F430 were developed in close cooperation with Brembo and Bosch, resulting in a new cast-iron alloy for the discs, containing molybdenum with better heat dissipation characteristics. The engine was the major innovation, with different engine head, valves, piston designs, and lighter, more compact sizing. The F430 also featured the E-Diff, a computer-controlled limited slip active differential which can vary the distribution of torque based on inputs such as steering angle and lateral acceleration.
